Wales vs Italy Prediction & Betting Tips - Six Nations

Wales host Italy on the final weekend of the 2024 Six Nations Championship. The home side are propping up the table with the Italians in fifth place. Wales are four points behind their opponents and one of them will finish bottom of the table and ‘win’ the wooden spoon. Wales haven’t done that in 21 years but come into this final fixture with just three points. All have been bonus points earned when losing each of their four matches. They began with a 27-26 home loss to Scotland. At one stage in the second half, they trailed 27-0 but just failed to make an amazing recovery. The following match saw them lose a half-time lead and be defeated by England 16-14. They were no match for Ireland and then last week were beaten 45-24 at home by France.

Even if they were to win this match, they could still finish bottom. That would be the case if Wales won but Italy earned a bonus point either by scoring four tries or losing by seven points or less. Italy are used to finishing bottom of the Six Nations but have been a revelation this year. Only a loss away in Ireland without scoring has been a disappointing performance. They only narrowly lost to England in their opening match, drew in France and then last week beat Scotland at home. Italy will look to repeat the shock win they had in Cardiff two years ago, Wales will be determined not to win that wooden spoon but we opt for Italy to win given an eight point start.
