One of Rugby’s greatest tournaments is set to return this weekend as the Six Nations kicks off with the same fixture as last year, as Wales prepare to do battle with last years beaten finalist, Ireland, at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The four-time Six Nations champions will hoping for a betting showing this year than last, where they only managed one win in their five matches, which turned out to be nothing more than a consolation against Scotland. Wales have slipped down the world ranking in recent months, dropping to ninth place, only above Japan in the top 10. Since that win over Scotland last February, Wales have only won one of their last seven matches, which was over Argentina back in November. They will fancy themselves on their home patch but will find it difficult against a solid Ireland outfit.

Ireland will come into this tournament looking go one better than they managed last year where they came up just short of the eventual winners France who were the only side to claim a victory over them in the tournament. Ireland is the number one ranked side in the world coming into this tournament and have gone on a six-game win streak since that defeat to France during the last Six Nations tournament, overcoming the likes of South African, England, and Australia along the way. The Irish will know that their opponents will not make it easy for them in front of their passionate Cardiff support but they will be confident that they have enough class in their side to come away with a win.
