Wales vs Georgia Prediction & Betting Tips - Rugby World Cup
by Steve Ashfield | in Rugby World Cup Prediction
Wales begin their 2019 Rugby World Cup campaign with a Pool D game against Georgia. Also in this pool are Australia, Fiji and Uruguay and it's likely to be dominated by Australia and Wales. The Welsh side are currently ranked fifth in the world which is seven places higher than their opponents. Wales have played in every tournament and their best finish was 3rd place way back in 1987. They have only reached one other semi-final since then and finished fourth in 2011. Their overall world cup record is 21-16. Only once have they played Georgia before and that game was won by 13 points to six. Warm-up games saw them win and lose against England and lose by five points to Ireland. Earlier this year they completed the Grand Slam when winning the Six Nations.
Georgia are competing in the finals for the fifth time but have never made it past the Pool stage. They have played 16 games and lost 12 of them. Georgia are top dogs when it comes to the European Rugby Championship that is played winning seven out of the last eight tournaments. When they have to step up a class it's a different story. They will be aiming to try and pip Fiji for third to automatically qualify for the 2023 World Cup. Wales are the stronger side and won't want to make any mistakes in this opening game. Go for Wales to win both halves.

Our Wales vs Georgia Prediction
Wales won the Six Nations at the start of this year and will be fully and rightly expecting to reach the quarter finals in Japan. They have had some good and bad results in their warm-up games but are stronger than their opponents who lost 36-9 to Scotland recently. The tip here is for Wales to win both halves of the game.
