Wales may be the current Six Nations Grand Slam winners but they have never made it to a Rugby World Cup final. They bid to reach the semi-finals for only the third time when taking on France. Wales won Pool D winning all of their matches. That included a tight win over Australia and although they had to come from behind to beat Fiji, they come into this match in good form.

France finished second in their pool behind England. They only had to play three games due to the match against England being cancelled due to the poor weather. That will see them come into this game a bit fresher than their opponents as their last match was played on October 6, two weeks before this match. France may have finished second but they only beat Argentina and Tonga by a combined aggregate of four points. They just don't look in the form to get a win in this game, back Wales to win the match.
