Torino will look to extend their surprise lead at the top of the 2024-25 Serie A standings when they welcome Lazio. This match to be played at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino on Sunday comes with our prediction of a double chance for the hosts.
Ahead of this round of games, Torino is top of the table with 11 points and a lead of one point over Napoli and Udinese. Lazio is eighth with seven points and two behind top-four clubs. A strong, unbeaten start to the season saw Torino surge to the top of the standings, as they won three and drew two of their five matches so far. All the three wins have come in their last four league matches, so the confidence should be high.
The only cause of concern is a 2-1 loss to Empoli in the Coppa Italia competition during the midweek. They would have to quickly rebound from that result, and an unbeaten eight-game run at this venue in Serie A matches is a relief. Lazio will look to play spoilsport as they look to extend the positivity of a 3-0 win over Dynamo Kyiv in the midweek Europa League clash.
They are still looking to be consistent in the season, having not won two competitive matches in a row. It is their away form that is a bigger concern at the moment, as Lazio have lost their first two away trips of this Serie A campaign.
