We have two seeded players facing each other in round four of the Australian Open. 19th seed Tommy Paul takes on Alejandro Davidovich Fokina who is seeded five places above him. Time for our match prediction.

The last 16 will see the winner face either top seed Carlos Alcaraz or 32nd-seeded Corentin Moutet.

To reach round four of this outdoor hard court Grand Slam, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina must get a first win over Tommy Paul. He's lost all four previous meetings and all were played on this surface and two of them in this tournament. 

This year has seen the 14th seed beat Filip Misolic in straight sets and then need all five to defeat Reilly Opelka after winning the first two sets. Before this tournament, he reached the last four in Adelaide where he was the top seed.

Tommy Paul was a quarter-finalist here last year and reached the last four in 2023. The American has beatenAleksandar Kovacevic and Thiago Agustin Thiago this week without dropping a set. He's won four of his six matches in 2026, reaching the last four in Adelaide.

He'd love to repeat the result when he played Fokina last year in round four, losing just three games.

This is likely to be tougher but we still tip Paul to win.
