Qualifier Thiago Seyboth Wild takes on the 12th seed Taylor Fritz for a place in round three of the Miami Open. The scheduled opponent in round three of this outdoor hard court tournament is either 22nd seed Nicolas Jarry or unseeded Jack Draper.  Wild was 76th when this tournament began but was 11 places higher in the previous list. He had to go through the qualifying rounds to get into the main draw of this Masters tournament. That went well with two straight sets victories with 13 games dropped. That took him into a first round match against Nuno Borges and he again won in straight sets. The Brazilian is now up to 67th in the live rankings. Taylor Fritz is 13th in the rankings but seeded 12th in the absence of Novak Djokovic. He has been playing well on outdoor hard courts in recent weeks. The Delray Beach Open was won and he got to the last 16 at Indian Wells. Fritz is currently 15th in the Live ATP Race and has a good record in this tournament. He reached the fourth round in both 2021 and 2022 and last year made it to the quarter finals. We tip him to get a straight sets victory over Wild in the first meeting between the pair.
