The current Currie Cup leaders, the Natal Sharks, will look to secure a home semi-final when they host the Golden Lions at Kingspark Stadium on Saturday evening. The hosts are two points clear of the Free State Cheetahs in second, and a win here will guarantee that they finish in the top two. The Sharks have made an incredible comeback in this tournament following a rough start when several of their players were playing in tournaments abroad. The Lions will play the bottom-side, the Griffons, in the final fixture of the group stage, while Western Province will entertain the Sharks. The Lions pulled themselves back into contention for qualification by beating Western Province last week 32-12, and they will hope that their momentum can carry them into this crucial match. A win here will certainly increase their chances of qualification significantly, with a favourable fixture to come next weekend.
