Third-place Fidelity ADT Lions will be out to strengthen their semi-final bid when they host fifth-place Boland Kavaliers in this 2026 Currie Cup Round 5 fixture on Friday at Ellis Park Stadium. Lions have won both of their home matches in the competition by blowout margins while the Kavaliers are still searching for their first win in four Currie Cup road trips since last season, which is why we are backing the hosts for an emphatic victory in our prediction.

Fidelity ADT Lions suffered their second defeat in the 2026 Currie Cup after losing 31–19 to defending champions Suzuki Griquas in Kimberley last week. That result left them four points behind the top two, weakening their bid for a home seeding in the playoffs. 

Nevertheless, the Johannesburg-based outfit will be confident of getting back into the top-two race. They have won both of their home fixtures in the competition by blowout margins. 

Boland Kavaliers appear to have lost momentum after winning their opening two matches. They come into this contest with back-to-back defeats, including a 19–12 loss to Sharks XV last Saturday.

Saturday's result left the Kavaliers one point behind the playoff positions and marked their fourth consecutive Currie Cup defeat on the road since last season. They have lost both of their previous Currie Cup visits to Ellis Park Stadium.
