The Kings Park Stadium in Durban will come alive on Saturday when South Africa face Argentina in this 2025 Rugby Championship round five cracker. The defending champions, sitting second in the standings, could strengthen their push to retain the Rugby Championship title with a win over the Pumas. Here is our prediction for the match.

South Africa reignited their hopes of defending the Rugby Championship title following a record-breaking victory over New Zealand in their last match. The Springboks stunned the Wellington crowd, overturning a three-point halftime deficit with 36 unanswered points in the second half to secure the win.

They have won nine of their last 11 tests, seven of which by 18 points or more. Rassie Erasmus’ side have also won eight of their last nine tests, mostly by convincing margins.

Argentina also came away with a momentous victory in their last match, edging out four-time world champions Australia. The Pumas accelerated to a gaping 12-point lead at halftime, and held on to win win 28-26 against the Wallabies in Sydney.

However, South Africa have been their toughest opponents. They have lost nine of their last 10 matches against the reigning world champions, including all their last eight away ties with the Springboks.
