We’re off to Kings Park Stadium on Saturday afternoon to see the Sharks take on the Boland Kavaliers in the Currie Cup. The Sharks are seventh in the standings, while the Kavaliers are in second place after five games. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

With only six points in five games, the Sharks' title reign as Currie Cup champions will definitely come to an end this weekend if they lose this match. 

Indeed, the Durbanites may have left it too late. They beat basement side Western Province 29-21 last week, but that followed four defeats on the bounce since the start of the competition.

However, the Sharks cannot be written off in this matchup just yet, as they have won 12 of their last 15 home games, while two of their three defeats were by three or fewer points.

Meanwhile, it has been a dream return to the Currie Cup for the Boland Kavaliers. They’ve taken 21 points from their five games and only trail the league-leading Cheetahs on points difference. 

The Kavaliers pulled off a stunning 29-26 victory over the Pumas on the road last week, marking their third win in a row. They’ve only lost to Griquas (48-39) this season. 

The visitors have split their two away games this season, one win and one defeat. However, they did come out on top on their last visit to the Shark Tank, 37-25 back in 2016.
