2022 Miami Open champion Hubert Hurkacz is seeded eighth for this year's tournament. He faces 28th seed Sebastian Korda in the third round of this Masters 1000 tournament. Seeded opponents that could be met in the last 16 are Grigor Dimitrov (11th) and Adrian Mannarino (19th). Hurkacz is the world number nine and 12th in the ATP Live Race. The second round saw him defeat unseeded Alexander Shevchenko in three sets, losing the second on a tie-break. He's reached at least the last eight of three tournments this year. His best performance was getting to the semi-finals in Marseille. He also got to the final representing Poland in the United Cup team event. Hurkacz leads Korda 3-1 in previous meetings with two of the last three being won, both on hard courts.

Sebastian Korda has also had some success in this tournament, reaching the last eight in 2021. The American is up to 27th in the live rankings after beating qualifier Roberto Bautista Agut in round two. He had to come from behind to win that match after losing a first set tie-break. The next two sets were lost for the loss of seven games. Korda is 29th in the Live ATP Race and made it to the last four of the Adelaide International in January. His best performance since then was a quarter final appearance in Dubai when he retired against Andrey Rublev when a set down and trailing 4-3 in the second set. We tip Hurkacz to make it through to the fourth round.
