After a week off, the Six nations competition returns to action this week, and in a crucial top-of-the-log clash, we will see Ireland travel to Murrayfield to take on Scotland in what should be an entertaining match. Ireland is the current number one ranked side in the world and has shown their metal in this tournament, currently in pole position and boasting a flawless record to date. After handing Wales a record-breaking beating in their opening match in the tournament 34-10, Ireland then went on to bring an end to the 13-match win streak of the French, beating them 32-19 at home. Italy was the next to come up against the might of the Irish, and despite putting on a good display, were no match for the world leaders who eventually emerged with a 34-20 win. A win for Ireland in this one will mean job almost done; however, they will want to lay down a marker against the current number two team in the tournament, sending a message to the finalists.

Scotland began their tournament in the best possible way, taking down their age-old enemy England 29-23 at Twickenham in the opener. They went on to deliver a 35-7 thrashing to Wales at this venue a week later but failed in their last match in France, losing 32-21 to the world’s number two side. A win in this one will keep the Scot's dreams of a triple crown alive, though they will know that their opposition will not make it easy for them.
