 Roger Federer is chasing a ninth Wimbledon Men's Singles title. When he won his first one, his opponent in this quarter final, Hubert Hurkacz was only six years old. Federer has had this tournament as his main target all year. He's only played a handful of tournaments this year and they didn't go too well and this is his first last eight appearance of 2021. He made a slow start to Wimbledon 2021 and could have gone out in the first round to Adrian Mannarino who retired when level at two sets each. Federer's form has improved as each round has gone by but more improvement may be needed to get past Hurkacz.

The Pole has won two tournaments this year and that includes the Miami Masters. He beat a string of top players to win that title, including Andrey Rublev and Stefanos Tsitsipas. This is his first time past the third round of a Grand Slam and in the last round, he beat second seeded Daniil Medvedev. He's in eighth place in the ATP Race, so that shows just what how successful he has been this year. He lacks experience at this level of a Grand Slam though. Back Federer to beat him, it might take four sets to do so though.
