Palmeiras seek to tighten their grip on top spot in the Brazilian Serie A this weekend, when they welcome Atletico Mineiro. After 19 rounds, 19 points separate the two sides in the standings. Palmeiras have a dominant past in this game, and our prediction backs them here.

Palmeiras continued just where they had left off, following the World Cup break. Alviverde made it four wins in a row by beating Coritiba 3-1 away from home.

Abel Ferreira’s men did not look rusty at all as they earned three crucial points to power their title bid. Palmeiras have now won 13 matches this term and lost just once. With 44 points, they lead defending champions Flamengo, who are second, by seven points.
