We head to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon, where Arsenal will be taking on Everton in a mouth-watering Premier League Matchday 8 clash. The Gunners are unbeaten in their last seven EPL matches against the Toffees, and we fancy the North Londoners to extend that record here, as discussed in our prediction below.
Mikel Arteta’s side return from Europe this weekend in search of a third straight league victory to keep the pressure on current leaders Manchester City. The Gunners edged Forest late last weekend to record their sixth win in seven top-flight matches, and they will fancy their chances in this one, having not lost a home game to this opponent since April 2021.
In contrast, David Moyes is hoping to avoid a third league match without a victory after falling to Chelsea at Hill Dickinson Stadium on MD7. The Merseysiders enter this match in eighth place with 10 points, but a loss here will almost guarantee they will end the weekend in the bottom half of the table. Let’s get into the key stats!

Arsenal - Everton: Form Analysis
Arsenal’s perfect record in the UEFA Champions League ended in midweek when they were forced to dig deep to salvage a late 2-2 draw against German giants Bayern Munich at the Allianz.
A late rescue act was also required for the Gunners to get by Forest last weekend in a match where they recorded just 1.14 xG, created a single big chance, and managed only one shot on target.
However, both those games were on the road. At home, Arsenal have won all four matches across all competitions this season and scored two or more goals in each victory during this period.
Arsenal have won eight of their last nine Premier League home games!
Meanwhile, after a disappointing 2-2 draw away to Hull City after the international break, Everton were handed their first league defeat of the season last week, losing 2-0 to Chelsea at home.
The Toffees have left far too many points on the table, currently on a league-high four draws. They have only scored eight goals this term - the joint-fewest of the top 11 teams in the league standings.
All three of the visitors’ away league matches this season have ended in draws. They have not won a game on the road in the top flight since the end of February against Newcastle United (3-2).

Arsenal & Everton Squad Analysis
Arsenal’s point in Munich came at a massive cost, with Bukayo Saka lasting just 10 minutes before sustaining an injury to his quad. Arteta revealed in his post-match conference that “It doesn’t look good at all,” suggesting Saka is facing a lengthy spell sidelined.
Eberechi Eze replaced Saka and took just 15 minutes to give his side the lead in the tie. He has now scored in both UCL matches this season and should get the nod to start this weekend. William Saliba and Christos Tzolis are out, while Piero Hincapie is a doubt.
Declan Rice’s late equaliser at the Allianz salvaged a point for his side and marked his first goal of the season. The England international has now recorded four direct goal contributions in his last six matches in all competitions.
Rice has provided an assist in each of his last two EPL home games!
Moyes, on the other hand, has a fully fit squad at his disposal after former Arsenal man Christian Norgaard recovered from a groin injury to make his Toffees debut in the defeat to Chelsea last week.
Another ex-Gunner, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, had a forgettable outing against the Blues, which included an error that led to the first goal. He may drop to the bench here, with Jake O’Brien the most likely to return to the defensive quartet.
Keep an eye on Thierno Barry. The Everton striker has missed the most big chances this term (6) but still has the second-highest xG (4.70) as well as the second-most shots at goal (25) and shots on target (11) in the league, only behind City’s Erling Haaland.

Arsenal were made to dig deep on their trip to Munich in midweek, but they showed their resilience by salvaging a point, and will fancy their chances of picking up another league win here on their home patch, where they have yet to drop a point this season.
Everton have been tough to beat this season, but the Emirates has not been a happy hunting ground for them. The Toffees have not won at this venue since April 2021, and we feel that record will be extended this weekend. Our Arsenal vs Everton prediction is Arsenal wins & under 4.5 goals.
