Both of these clubs are in the bottom half of the English Premier League. Crystal Palace are 14th in the table after seven games and on Sunday they host 11th-placed Newcastle United. Of the last eight league games the Eagles and Magpies have played, five have seen both teams get on the scoresheet. Our prediction therefore is BTTS.
Crystal Palace are only a point behind the visitors. They are just a couple of points above the relegation zone and have had some mixed results of late with far too many goals being conceded. They have at least had a recent win at Selhurst Park and this is a fixture in which they have had some good results in recent seasons with both teams scoring regularly.
Newcastle United fans often have long trips to make to see the Magpies on their travels. Crystal Palace return to Selhurst Park after three successive away fixtures, two in the Europa League. It hasn't been going well for them with a 3-1 loss at Lyon being followed by a humiliating 5-0 loss at Brighton and Hove Albion last Sunday. Thursday went a bit better for them as they drew 2-2 at Besiktas, a game in which they both trailed and led.
That draw made it ten goals conceded in their last three fixtures. That sad statistic is something that new coach Pierre Sage has to sort out or he could be making an early exit from Selhurst Park. One thing that could save him is their home form. Both of their last two at home have been won with seven goals scored.
Their most recent home Premier League fixture saw them beat Nottingham Forest 3-1. Both teams have scored in three of their last four games.
Away day blues for the Magpies.
Newcastle United have been having nightmares in recent away Premier League fixtures. Their last two away league games have been at Leeds United and Coventry City, both ending in disastrous 4-1 defeats. Those losses followed an opening away victory at Tottenham.

Crystal Palace will have taken some heart from their 2-2 draw at Besiktas on Thursday. It would have been better if they had been able to hold onto their second-half lead, but there would have been alarm bells when they went a goal down in the game.
