Ospreys will be looking to move up the standings in the EPCR Challenge Cup when they face the Newcastle Falcons on Saturday. Ospreylia are in fifth place in Pool 2 while the Falcons are at the foot of the group standings. Check out our match prediction below.
Pool 2 in the Challenge Cup is still wide open with three teams, including Ospreys, locked on five points after the first two rounds, behind Pau (6) and leaders Montpellier (9).
Ospreys claimed a commanding 30-14 victory over the Lions in their opening match of the competition but were hammered 59-15 by Montpellier a week later. They have now won two, lost two and drawn one of their last five across all competitions.
However, the hosts have been very good at home of late, currently riding a four-match win streak while they have only lost two of their last 10 across all competitions.
Meanwhile, Newcastle Falcons are one of only two teams in the Challenge Cup to lose both matches so far and they are the only ones yet to register a point.
The Falcons were beaten 32-19 by Pau in their opening match and went down 22-14 to the Dragons on their home patch a week later. They are now on a five-match losing streak.
The visitors' away form suggests that a defeat is likely here, as they have only managed three wins in their last 20 outings in all competitions dating back to February 2023.
