Western Conference leaders Oklahoma City Thunder will travel to face bottom-placed New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA on Tuesday. Can the defending champions continue their impressive start to the campaign with a win against the Pelicans? Here is our prediction.

The New Orleans Pelicans' NBA start this season has been nothing short of a disaster. A poor 2-11 record has left them stuck in the foot of the Western Conference standings. They lost 124-106 to the Golden State Warriors on Monday to mark their fifth defeat in a row.  

Interim head coach James Borrego will also face a difficult challenge in overturning the team's poor run at home this season. They have recorded a disappointing 1-5 record at home, including consecutive defeats in their last three.

Oklahoma City Thunder are at the opposite end of the form ladder, unlike the out-of-sorts New Orleans Pelicans. Mark Daigneault's men have left no one in doubt of their chances of retaining the title following a terrific start to the campaign. 

They defeated the Charlotte Hornets 109-96 on Monday to extend their winning streak to five games. Overall, an impressive 13-1 record has seen them go to the top of the Western Conference. This includes a terrific 7-1 record on the road.
