The New Orleans Pelicans will play host to the Denver Nuggets at Smoothie King Center in the NBA on Wednesday night. The Pels (2-12) are bottom of the Western Conference standings, while the Nuggets (10-3) are in second place. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

It’s starting to look like it’s going to be another long season for Pelicans fans, as their team has lost 12 of their 14 games this term. They were defeated 126-109 by the Thunder on Monday - their sixth loss on the bounce. 

The Pels allowed 49 points in Q1 against OKC. Nothing is clicking for them right now; currently bottom five in offensive rating and bottom three on the defensive end. 

New Orleans have lost their last four matches against this opponent. Dejounte Murray and Jordan Poole are ruled out, while Zion Williamson and Saddiq Bey are doubts for the hosts. 

Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets have started the season very well, but they will be hoping to bounce back here following a surprising 130-127 loss to the Bulls on Monday. 

Nikola Jokic recorded a triple-double against Chicago and has been excellent again this season, now averaging 29.2 PPG and 13.1 rebounds. Jamal Murray is adding 22 PPG this term.

Notably, of Denver’s three losses this season, one came in overtime, and the other two by fewer than three points. Cristian Braun and Julian Strawther are sidelined.
