Saudi Arabia marches on at the 2025 Gold Cup after securing their place in the knockouts. They will be up against defending champions Mexico in the quarter-finals. We have a prediction for the match below.

This clash will be the first between the two nations outside the confines of the FIFA World Cup and Confederations Cup. This will be the fifth meeting between them, and Mexico won all of the earlier four.

Twice in those encounters, Mexico scored five goals, and they kept two clean sheets. Heading into this one, they are unbeaten in four outings and claimed two wins and a draw in the group stage.

Saudi Arabia are playing at the Gold Cup as guests, but this also comes as a good preparation run for their coming World Cup qualifiers. They started their campaign here on a good note, beating Haiti 1-0, but have since failed to add to that win.

A 1-1 draw with Trinidad & Tobago in the last round ensured they advanced into the knockouts. They had earlier suffered a 1-0 loss to the USA. An area that Saudi Arabia coach Herve Renard needs to address is their attack.

In their last four matches, the Asian giants haven't managed more than a goal. They only did so three times in the last 10 matches, and that was against minnows Bahrain, Jordan, and Iraq.
