With their respective unbeaten runs, Mexico and Colombia look to continue their preparations for next year’s World Cup with a friendly on Saturday night local time in Texas. This international friendly match at the AT&T Stadium between El Tri and Los Cafeteros comes with our prediction of over 2.5 goals.

Mexico qualified for next year’s World Cup as a co-host and are playing friendlies to prepare for the global event. Colombia also qualified for the tournament by finishing third in the CONMEBOL qualification campaign with seven wins and only four defeats.

Mexico’s last assignments were against Asian teams South Korea (2-2) and Japan (0-0). Those results extended their unbeaten run to nine matches, during which they won six and drew three. Their performances in the friendlies will be under the scanner, as they could win only one of their last five friendly matches (W1, D2, L2).

Colombia come here with the confidence of finishing third in their CONMEBOL qualification campaign with seven wins out of 18 (W7, D7, L4). Two of those wins have come in their last two games, which were preceded by three consecutive draws. The South Americans will be confident of their chances, as they won their last nine international friendlies, including wins over Germany and even Mexico back in December 2023.
