Newark, New Jersey, will be the destination of UFC 316, which will be headlined by Merab Dvalishvili taking on Sean O’Malley for the bantamweight title. The Machine has a pro record of 19-4-0, while Suga is 18-2-0, 1NC. Let’s get into the match prediction.
Merab Dvalishvili is set to return to the Octagon for the first time since January 19 at UFC 311, where he successfully defended his bantamweight title against Umar Nurmagomedov.
The Machine has been on an incredible run in the UFC, with his victory over Nurmagomedov taking his active win streak to 12 bouts in a row, dating back to April 2018 against Ricky Simon.
The Georgian’s elite grappling has worked incredibly well for him, while his stamina is arguably his greatest asset, as illustrated by his record, which shows 15 of his 19 wins coming by decision.
Meanwhile, Sean O’Malley claimed that he was not at 100% when he lost the title to Dvalishvili at UFC 306, but he vows that he is at the peak of his powers coming into this match.
Suga’s loss to the Georgian brought an end to his three-fight win streak, which included victories over Marlon Vera, Aljamain Sterling (for the title) and Petr Yan.
The American’s greatest strength is his devastating striking power, with 12 of his 18 wins coming by way of KO/TKO, while only one of his victories have come via submission.
