Lyon had a remarkable Challenge Cup campaign last season, dispatching Europe's best to reach the final. However, they fell short of what would have been their second Challenge Cup crown by losing 37-12 to Bath.

The Newcastle-based outfit are also struggling with a poor run of form in their domestic league campaign this season. They have lost all six of their league games and are rock bottom of the standings.
