There’s top of the table action in League One this weekend as the Imps of Lincoln City host table-toppers Birmingham City in what should be a hugely competitive encounter. Can the home side give City the Blues by inflicting a second defeat of the season on them, or will our prediction for this match back the league-leading visitors to LNER Stadium?
Michael Skubala’s Lincoln have been excellent this season, losing only one game and lying fourth behind only Mansfield, Wrexham and today’s opponents.
Their form has been built on the best away record in the division. But they are not quite as effective at home, picking up just seven points from the dozen available.
Lincoln are unbeaten in their last six and defeated Grimsby Town 2-1 in a Football League Trophy match during the International Break.
Birmingham City were also in action during the break, in the same competition, and they were 4-0 away winners over Shrewsbury Town in that game. However, they did taste defeat for the first time this season in their most recent league match, a 1-0 loss at Charlton.
That result aside, Birmingham have been superb in League One and lead the table by two points despite playing a game less than Wrexham in second.

Our Lincoln City vs Birmingham Prediction
Our prediction for Lincoln City vs. Birmingham City in League One is: Birmingham City to win.
Desoite Lincoln's lofty position in the league table, their home form isn't as impressive as their away. Birmingham's away form had been perfect until a recent loss at Charlton, but the Blues have invested heavily in their squad and have a superb record against the Imps and with them clear at the top of the table, we are backing the visitors to snatch the win in what should be an exciting clash.
