It promises to be a cracker as third-placed Northampton Saints travel to face group leaders Leicester Tigers in this Premiership Cup Group B fixture on Friday. Can the Saints stun the Tigers to boost their semi-final playoffs chances? Here is our prediction.

Leicester Tigers maintained their perfect start to their Premiership Cup campaign with a narrow away victory over second-placed Newcastle Red Bulls the last time out. The Tigers came from a 5-0 halftime deficit to win 10-8 in a low-scoring affair at Kingston Park.  

That result marked their third straight victory in all competitions, and fourth in their last five games overall. They have won each of their last eight home games, dating back to last season. 

Northampton Saints conceded 26 unanswered points in the second half to surrender a nine-point lead, ultimately falling 31-14 to Newcastle Red Bulls at home on Saturday. This shocking defeat snapped their five-match winning streak and their unbeaten start to the season. 

Notably, Phil Dowson’s side have won each of their last three away games this season, but haven't been fortunate in their recent trips to face Leicester Tigers. They have lost five of their last six road games against the Tigers, including the last three.
