A single point separates promotion contenders Leeds United and Burnley as they restart the 2024-25 Championship campaign after international break. This match at Elland Road on Saturday could see the home team flex their muscles and pick up a win.

Leeds is fourth after four matches with two wins and two draws. They are four points behind leaders Sunderland, while the visitors Burnley went into the break in seventh place with seven points from two wins, a draw, and a loss. Leeds defeated Sheffield Wednesday and Hull by the same 2-0 scoreline going into the international break. That atoned for the mild start to the season, where they had two successive draws.

It is the impressive returns at the back that is driving the campaign for the home team, as they have kept three clean sheets in a row. Burnley could be under pressure to break that, as they travel here with a draw and two defeats in their last three competitive matches. That included a 2-0 loss in the EFL Cup to Wolverhampton Wanderers, but the Clarets have lost the momentum built at the start.

The visitors started the campaign with 4-1 and 5-0 wins over Luton and Cardiff, but two failures to score in their last three matches puts a question mark over their efficiency. To make things worse, they couldn’t capitalize on Blackburn playing with ten men for the last 30 minutes and were held to a 1-1 draw in the last match.
