Stade Rochelais narrowly missed out on the playoffs last season by just one point following a 32-18 away loss to Section Paloise on the final matchday. They have similarly begun their campaign this term on a disappointing note, losing 23-18 away to Bordeaux Begles last weekend. However, they were able to salvage a point after giving the hosts a tough run in both halves to settle for a tight loss margin. 

Notably, Ronan O'Gara's men have won each of their last three home fixtures, two of which by 23 points or more. They have also secured victories in two of their last three encounters with Clermont.

Clermont got off to a disappointing start in their 2025 Top 14 campaign, losing 34-24 at home to defending champions Stade Toulousain. French fullback Thomas Ramos was the hosts' nightmare, scoring an impressive 14 points from set-pieces. 

Christophe Urios' men face another difficult challenge when they travel to face Stade Rochelais on Saturday. They have lost each of their last seven trips to Stade Marcel Deflandre.
