UFC 319 arrives at Chicago’s United Center this weekend, and one of the standout bouts on the main card sees Jared Cannonier face Michael Page in the middleweight division. The Killa Gorilla has a pro record of 18-8-0, while Venom is 23-3-0. Check out our match prediction below!
While this matchup might not garner as many of the headlines as Dricus du Plessis vs Khamzat Chimaev for the middleweight title later in the night, it still carries as much, if not even more, significance for these fighters.
For Cannonier, this is an opportunity to reestablish himself in the division after a tough 2024, while Page can put himself firmly on the map among the upper-tier fighters at middleweight. At 41, this could be Jared Cannonier’s final realistic attempt to start a run back toward the top five in the middleweight class. He has a start, having beaten Gregory Rodrigues in February.
Since losing his title shot against Israel Adesanya in 2022, the Killa Gorilla has not featured at a PPV, and lost both his fights in 2024, KO/TKO against Nassourdine Imamov and by decision to Caio Borralho.
Still, the American possesses more than enough power to take out most he comes up against, as illustrated by his 11 KO/TKOs. He only has two submission wins to his name - none in the UFC.
