The main event at UFC Baku this weekend is a Light Heavyweight bout, with Jamahal Hill taking on Khalil Rountree Jr. Sweet Dreams has a pro record of 12-3-0 while the War Horse is 14-6-0. Let's get into the match prediction.
Jamahal Hill is set to begin his road to redemption. After beating Glover Teixeira for the belt in 2023, he lost the title to Alex Pereira last April in his first title defence.
Sweet Dreams returned to the Octagon at UFC 311 against former champion Jiri Prochazka, but suffered another KO defeat in round three, marking the first time he has lost back-to-back in his pro career.
Now ranked number four in the Light Heavyweight division, Hill’s 12 wins in the UFC are made up of seven knockouts and five decision victories, while his three losses have all come by way of knockout.
Meanwhile, many eyebrows were raised when Khalil Rountree Jr was handed a title shot against Pereira at UFC 307 while he was ranked just eighth in the division.
Indeed, he had racked up five straight wins before that bout, but stepping up in class against Poatan proved too steep, with the Brazilian knocking him out in round four.
While Rountree gives up height and reach in this matchup, his speed and blitzing ability to close the distance will likely be his greatest assets.
