It’s already been an incredible Six Nations Championship this year, and we can still look forward to two more rounds of action, starting with Italy hosting Wales at Stadio Olimpico in Rome this Saturday. After a very promising start to the tournament, Italy has been unable to find the results to match their effort, as they are yet to win a match. The Italians put on an excellent display in their first match against France and could have come out as the winners in that match but were denied in the closing minutes as France managed to score a late try to seal the win 29-24. Italy followed that up with a 31-14 loss to England before another improved display against Ireland in their last match, though the men in green proved too strong, eventually wrapping up the match 34-20. With the current issues regarding contracts going on behind the scenes in their opponent’s camp, Italy will see this as the perfect opportunity to register their first win in this tournament.

While the Italians have earned their fair share of praise for the improvement they’ve shown in this tournament, the same can’t be said of Wales, as issues on and off the pitch have clearly weighed on their performances to date. After kicking the tournament off with a record-breaking 10-34 loss to Ireland at home, Wales suffered an even bigger margin of defeat in the following game against Scotland, which eventually ended 35-7. The Welsh were arguably slightly better in their last match against England but were still unable to earn a win, losing 10-20. Wales are currently at the foot of the table, with no points in their first three matches. With only France left to play after this match, this may be Wales' last chance to try and avoid ending this tournament without registering a single point.
