Ireland are the defending Six Nations champions and look like retaining their title this weekend. They top the table with 16 points, four ahead of England and five ahead of visitors Scotland. Just a bonus point should see them crowned champions. That’s because of their vastly superior points difference. A win will see them win the title. It’s not going to be a second successive Grand Slam though and not even a Triple Crown. The Irish side won their first three matches in convincing form. Victories came away in France and at home to Italy and Wales. Then last week their Grand Slam hopes ended with a loss to England at Twickenham. Ireland have won their last nine matches against Scotland and last lost to them at home in 2010, winning eight games since then.

Scotland comes into this final weekend knowing that a win in Dublin will see them win the Triple Crown. Actually, winning the Six Nations title is a massive ask because of the fact their points difference is 76 points less than that of Ireland. They must recover from the shock loss in Italy last weekend. Before that match they’d won in Wales, narrowly lost at home to France and beaten England at home to win the Calcutta Cup. Their record against Ireland is poor and their last meeting with the Irish saw them lose 36-14 in the 2023 Rugby World Cup. We tip Ireland to win both halves in this match and successfully defend their Six Nations title.
