Now where were we? The Six Nations championship resumes after a break since March but the final fixtures are now being played. Ireland are in fourth place, four points behind England and France on 13 points and just one behind Scotland. Ireland still have a chance of winning the title though as they have this game in hand. A win at home to bottom-placed Italy and a bonus point for scoring at least four tries will see them climb to the top of the table with one game remaining and that's away to France.

Ireland began this 2020 Six Nations Championship with two home wins over Scotland and Wales. A trip to Twickenham followed and they lost that one 24-12. However, with no side unbeaten in this championship, their title hopes still look rosy. They take on an Italian side that have lost all of their matches in this season's championships. That's a common feeling for the Italians who haven't won a match in the Six Nations since 2015. This campaign has seen them lose to Wales, Scotland and Francea and with their final game being at home to England, another barren season looks almost inevitable. Their points difference after three games is -72 mainly caused by the 42-0 away loss to Wales in their opening fixture. They put up a better effort in France though, only losing 35-22 but lost 17-0 at home to Scotland. Ireland have won 27 of their 31 games against Italy and all but one of their 17 at home. They have won their last nine against Italy, the last four Six Nations home wins being by a margin of 151 points.
