Liege-Bastogne-Liege Predictions & Betting tips - International
by Matthew Newman |
The 2026 edition of Liege-Bastogne-Liege is on Sunday, with some of the top talents looking to stop the hat-trick bid in the race for Tadej Pogacar. Can anyone do so or is the Slovenian too strong? Let’s get stuck into a prediction and find out.
Three times a winner of this race, including the last two editions, Tadej Pogacar is short odds to do so again. Only three men have won this famous race on more occasions, so he is already in rarified air at the age of 27. He has enjoyed an excellent start to the season, with three wins and a second in four races ridden.
The new kid on the block is Paul Seixas. He won Fleche Wallonne midweek to add to his success in Ardeche Classic earlier on in the year and his runner-up ride behind Pogacar in the Strade Bianche. He was no match for the older rider that day but he is a serious talent at just 19 years of age.
Remco Evenepoel is a dual winner of this race, coming home in front in 2022 and 2023. He won the Amstel Gold race by a single second over Mattias Skjelmose, so both have to be considered here as each way options to grab a podium place.
One other to consider at a huge price is Mauro Schmid. He is enjoying an excellent start to 2026, winner of the Muscat Classic and the Coppi e Bartali. He was 6th in the Amstel Gold and runner-up in the Fleche Wallonne.
