Fleche Wallonne Predictions & Betting tips - International
by Matthew Newman |
The 2026 edition of the Fleche Wallonne is on Wednesday with the famous climbs up the Mur de Hoy, including on the way to the finish always making for an exciting race. Let’s take a look over the main contenders and make a prediction.
It is perhaps not as strong a field as normal this year with Paul Seixas the red-hot favourite. Runner-up in the Strade Bianchi, he went to the Tour of the Basuqe Country and swept all four jerseys. He is just 19 years of age, and a seriously impressive talent in the making.
2025 was the year that Lenny Martinez really announced himself on the world stage. A superbly attacking rider, he carried the King of the Mountains jersey on his back for a large part of the Tour de France and was fourth in this race.
Runner-up in this race in both 2024 and 2025 was Kevin Vauquelin. He was runner-up in the Tour de Suisse last year and seventh in the Tour de France, showing off his talents. Still only 24, this is a race that he will be targeting again ahead of the Grand Tours.
Julian Alaphilippe is not the force that he once was but he is a triple winner of this race in 2018, 2019 and 2021. He has had a moderate season so far but if there is a race to bring him back to his best, this would be it.
