Holger Rune reached the last eight at WImbledon in 2023. He’s going well again this year and takes on qualifier Quentin Halys in round three. A win takes the victor into the last 16 and a match against either unseeded Alexei Popyrin or the second seed Novak Djokovic.

Rune has never reached the final of a grass court tournament. Nor has he made it past the last eight of a Grand Slam. His preparation for this grass court Grand Slam wasn’t ideal with a loss in his only match at Queen’s Club.

This week has seen him beat Kwon Soo-woo in straight sets with only nine games lost. He did drop the first set against Thiago Seyboth Wild but won the next three for the loss of only seven games. He's now 16th in the live rankings.

World number 220 Quentin Halys is in the third round at Wimbledon for the second successive year. He lost in the qualifying rounds on five occasions before finally making his Wimbledon main draw debut in 2022.

He had to qualify again this year and only dropped one set in his three matches. That was in his second match against British player Jay Clarke. Round one in the main draw saw him beat unseeded Christopher Eubanks (who reached the last eight here in 2023) in straight sets.

He beat the 21st seed Karen Khachanov in the second round. That was a tough match and he had to come from two sets to one down to get the victory. That's taken him up to 187th in the live rankings, we tip over 3.5 sets to be played in this match.
