Humbert is up to 14th in the live rankings. This is his first ATP Tour singles final since reaching last November's Paris Masters. That was also an indoor hard court event as is this one in Marseille.
The 26-year-old has had wins this week over Alexander Bublik, seventh seed Lorenzo Sonego and in Saturday's semi-final he defeated Zizou Bergs. He is yet to drop a set and each of his last five sets in this tournament has been won 6-4.
Hamad Medjedovic caused a shock in the last four when beating the top seed Daniil Medvedev in straight sets. It's his second ATP Tour final in three months after reaching the final in Belgrade last November.
His run to the final in Marseille has taken the Serb to a new career-high of 72nd. Winning this title will see him rise another four places. Before his win over Medvedev, he had defeated Raphael Collignon, third seed Karen Khachanov and Daniel Altmaier.
