In a rematch of last season’s final, table-toppers Fidelity ADT Lions travel to face second-place Suzuki Griquas in the 2026 Currie Cup Round 4 clash on Saturday at the Suzuki Stadium. Griquas have swept each of their last eight Currie Cup home matches across the last two seasons, while Lions have suffered defeat in three of their last four trips, hence our prediction favouring the hosts. 

After a narrow six-point defeat to Stormers XXIII in the opening round, Suzuki Griquas have witnessed a drastic turnaround in their 2026 Currie Cup campaign. The defending champions eased past Blue Bulls by 30 points in their second fixture and defeated Cheetahs 26–24 last week.

Last week's success saw them shoot up to second in the standings with 11 points, one point behind Lions at the top. They have now put together an impressive nine wins in 11 Currie Cup matches dating back to last season and boast a perfect 8–0–0 record across their eight home fixtures since 2024. 

Lions also stumbled in their 2026 Currie Cup opener, but have atoned for that setback with back-to-back successes that have seen them go top of the standings. This includes a 42–19 demolition of bottom-place Blue Bulls in their most recent outing. 

However, the Mzwakhe Nkosi-led team are in for their biggest test of the campaign, travelling to Kimberley to face Suzuki Griquas. They have lost three of their last four Currie Cup away matches, dating back to last season, including defeats in two of their last three visits to Griquas.
