Table-toppers Toyota Cheetahs will have their impressive start put to the test when they travel to face defending champions Suzuki Griquas in Round 3 of the 2026 Currie Cup at Windhoek Draft Park in Kimberley. Griquas have won each of their last seven Currie Cup home matches and have also secured victories in each of their three previous Currie Cup meetings with Cheetahs, hence our prediction supporting a win for the home side. 

Suzuki Griquas are back on track in their 2026 Currie Cup campaign. After a narrow six-point defeat away to Stormers XXIII in the opening round, the defending champions returned to winning ways in style by demolishing Blue Bulls 56–26 in their second fixture. Gurshwin Wehr and Bobby Alexander both stole the show, scoring six (three each) of the team's eight tries to seal the victory.

Pieter Bergh's side have now put together an impressive 10 Currie Cup wins in their last 13 games. That run includes a remarkable seven-match winning streak at Windhoek Draft Park.

Toyota Cheetahs rose to the summit of the standings with 10 points, four clear of fourth-placed Griquas, after winning both of their opening two games. This includes a blowout 43–21 victory over Sharks XV last time out. 

However, their solid start will come under a severe challenge against Suzuki Griquas. The Bloemfontein-based outfit have suffered defeat in four of their last five Currie Cup away matches and lost each of their last three encounters with Griquas.
