Francisco Cerundolo vs Casper Ruud Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Miami

Casper Ruud bids to reach his first Masters final. The sixth seed takes on Francisco Cerundolo who is the lowest ranked player ever to reach the last four in Miami. Ruud has won seven ATP titles but all have been at the 250 series level. He's already had a tournament victory in Buenos Aires this year and will be hoping for more clay court success in the coming months. However, he has won a hard court tournament in the past, winning in San Diego last year. His record in Miami has not been a good one, in fact his victory over Henri Laaksonen in the second round this year was his first in this event. He's made up for that though with further wins over 30th seed Alexander Bublik, tenth seeded Cameron Norrie and in the quarter final he beat second seeded Alexander Zverev in three sets.

Francisco Cerundolo is another player who is best known for his success on clay. The Argentinian began this tournament ranked 103rd. but is now up to 51st in the live rankings. A win over Ruud will take him into the world's top 40. Cerundolo began this year ranked in 127th place and has spent most of 2022 playing in clay court tournaments. He won a Challenger tournament in Santa Cruz and then got to the last eight of an ATP tournament held in Buenos Aires losing to Diego Schwartzmann. He lost to him again in the last eight in Rio de Janiero. Away from the clay courts he hasn't had much success until this week. He lost in the first qualifying round of the Australian Open (to a player ranked 246th) and to the world number 543 Juncheng Shang at Indian Wells. This tournament has gone brilliantly for him though with wins over Tallon Griekspoor (in three sets), 16th seed Reilly Opelka (who retired in the second set), 22nd seeded Gael Monfils and the 28th seed Frances Tiafoe (after losing the first set). In the quarter finals he was 4-1 up in the first set against ninth seed Jannik Sinner when his opponent retired, so a slightly lucky route to the last four. Back Ruud to end his run with a straight sets win.
