A lot of teams begin their 2019 Rugby World Cup campaign with a game against a much lower ranked team who they will score plenty of points against. That's not the case for these two countries though. This is a Pool B game with the other countries to play being England, Tonga and the USA. France are ranked eighth in the world and that's three places above their South American opponents. England are expected to win this pool (but we said that in 2015) and these two countries are booked to fight it out for the second qualifying place. France have been the bridesmaid three times in the World Cup but lost all of those finals. They come into this tournament having won three of their last four games, the only loss being a narrow defeat by Scotland.
Argentina haven't been in good form of late and the South Americans have lost their last five games. That includes defeats by South Africa, Australia and New Zealand in the Rugby Championship. They have a good recent record in the World Cup and made the last four in 2015. This is going to be a tight game between these two nations but despite Argentina's recent losses, they were against three of the top six in the world. Go for the South Amercans to get a narrow win in this game.

France are an unpredictable side and this game will tell us a lot about their form and mood. They'd have probably preferred a game against either Tonga or the USA than going straight into this match against Argentina. They finished fourth in the Six Nations this season and although winning some warm-up games, haven't looked in top form. Argentina have a good World Cup record and are good at peaking at just the right time. With a tough Rugby Union Championship behind them, they can battle to a narrow win here.
