This is one of the most eagerly awaited matches in the Six Nations as hosts England take on Ireland at Twickenham in the penultimate round of the competition. England are in third position on the table with 10 points while Ireland are just a point ahead in second position. The winner of this match will still be in contention for the title while the loser will almost certainly be out of the running. England know that a victory will still keep them within three points of France provided the French win their match against Wales. In the final round of matches England will travel to take on France so they hold their destiny in their own hands. England will take confidence from the fact that they have only lost once at home to Ireland in the last eight matches.

Ireland alongside France were the favorites coming into this years tournament but their defeat to the French has taken their fate out of their hands. An Ireland win will still require France to lose one of their remaining matches which on current form seems unlikely. A loss for the Irish will end their hopes for the title. Their record at Twickenham is also very poor but this England team is out of form which will give them confidence. The best news that Ireland received is that Captain Johnny Sexton will be back for this match. They are almost unrecognizable when their talisman is not in the team so his return will give them a massive boost.
