England have begun their 2019 Rugby World Cup campaign with wins over Tonga and the USA. That has taken them a point clear of France in Pool C and four ahead of Argentina. A win in this game would clinch their participation in the knock-out rounds, with a final game against France to decide pool winners. This will be England's toughest game to date in the competition. They have a strong record against the Argentinians with 18 wins, one draw and four defeats. You have to go back 10 years for the last time Argentina recorded a victory over England. That win came on home soil and since then England have won nine in a row against them. The most recent win came in November 2017 when England won 21-8 at Twickenham.

Argentina have won one and lost one of their two games in this pool. They began with a narrow defeat by France, losing out by only two points but got back on track with a 28-12 win over Tonga securing a bonus point for scoring four tries. After France beat the USA, it's looking as if they will need to win this match to get into the last eight. This isn't going to be pretty to watch and Argentina's Augustin Creevy has already said rather tastelessly that this is going to be a "war." England certainly won't have it all their own way but can fight hard to get a win, leading at both half and full time.
