Saturday’s Currie Cup round seven action kicks off at the DHL Stadium with Western Province taking on the Boland Kavaliers. WP are bottom of the table, while the Kavaliers are in second place. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

Western Province will be taking their final bow in this year’s Currie Cup this weekend. They’ve failed to win a game this season and cannot qualify for the knockout stages of the competition.

Province suffered a 39-13 hammering by the Pumas at home last weekend, with Connor Evans running in their only try of the match. Kyle Smith added eight points off the boot. 

The hosts have lost both home games this season by 25+ points and were also beaten by this opponent in their last meeting in this competition back in 2019. 

Meanwhile, the Boland Kavaliers have enjoyed a stunning return to the Premier Division. With 23 points, it will take a massive turn of events to deny them a spot in the final four. 

Boland were bitterly unlucky to lose to the Sharks last week. They were up 31-30 at the hooter, but the Durbanites slotted over a penalty in the 86th minute to clinch a 33-31 victory. 

Notably, captain Marlyn Williams has been cleared fit for this match, while James Tedder is ruled out for this match due to a knee injury.
