Denmark and Germany will face off in the final of the 2026 European Handball Championships on Sunday afternoon. These teams beat Iceland and Croatia, who will contest the third-place game earlier in the day. Check out our match prediction below!
Denmark are the reigning World and Olympic champions and one of the most successful teams in the modern game. They have won the European Championship twice before - 2008 and 2012 - and entered this edition of the tournament as one of the favourites for the title. This will be their fifth appearance in a Euro final.
Germany have also won the European Championship on two occasions (2004 and 2016) and have been runners-up once (2002). This is their fourth Euro final appearance and first since their title run in 2016. However, the Germans have struggled against this opponent, having not beaten them since a friendly match a decade ago. Let’s get into the key stats!

Our Denmark vs Germany Prediction
Germany have been one of the most improved teams in this tournament, but they now face a massive test, set to face a team they have already lost to in this year’s Euros, and have been defeated by in each of their last seven encounters.
We picked out Denmark as the team to beat at the very start of the competition, and barring a slip to Portugal, they have been excellent. We expect this match to be a closer one than the previous clash in the main round, but still fancy the Danes to clinch the title. Our Denmark vs Germany prediction is Denmark -2.5.
