Cardiff City Stadium sets the stage for Sunday’s Group A4 UEFA Nations League clash between Wales and Denmark. Matches involving these sides have produced 19 goals in this competition, and we are expecting a few more to strike the back of the net here, as discussed in our prediction below.
Craig Bellamy’s side pulled off the upset of this group on Thursday night by beating Norway at this venue to secure their first points of the competition. That result will have given the Dragons a major boost of confidence to bring into this match against an opponent that they have not beaten in their last four encounters dating back to 2008.
Denmark enter this fixture off the back of a defeat to Portugal on Thursday night, but they still have the psychological advantage having beaten their upcoming opponents at home a week ago. With Norway travelling to Porto this week, a victory for the Red and Whites here will likely see them end the international break in at least second place in the standings. Let’s get into the key stats!

Wales - Denmark: Form Analysis
After back-to-back defeats to Portugal and Denmark in their first two games of the UNL, Wales managed to end their almost year-long winless streak with a 2-1 victory over Norway on Thursday.
Indeed, the Dragons were aided by Norway being reduced to 10 men in the second half. They ended the match with 1.05 xG (to Norway’s 1.30) and created as many big chances as their opponents (2).
Despite their poor form over the past couple of years, this week’s hosts have not lost any of their last five home matches across all competitions in regulation time dating back to October 2025 (W2 D3).
However, Wales have lost their last four matches against Denmark in all competitions!
Meanwhile, Denmark kicked off their UNL campaign with a slender loss to Norway before beating Wales last weekend. They then suffered a 4-2 defeat in an entertaining clash with Portugal on Thursday.
While the results have not exactly gone their way, there has been plenty to like about the Red and Whites in this competition, especially their attack that has already netted six times in three games.
On the negative side, though, Denmark are winless in their last four away games (D1 L3) and have only won two of their last 11 matches on the road since October 2023 in Euro qualifying.

Wales & Denmark Squad Analysis
We picked out Neco Williams as one to watch in the last match after his performance the previous weekend, and he was indeed the standout player for the Dragons, scoring the winner while recording two shots at goal from left-back.
Given their showing last time out, Bellamy may opt to go with the same starting 11 as he did against Norway, with Lewis Koumas leading the line and Liam Cullen operating in the number 10 role.
Harry Wilson, Nathan Broadhead, Karl Darlow, Joe Rodon and Isaak Davies are not with the squad due to injuries, but Wales came away from their last match with no new fitness concerns.
Keep an eye on Mikkel Damsgaard for Denmark this weekend!
The Brentford midfielder has been the team’s best player in this international break. He notched up a goal and an assist against Portugal, and now has six direct goal contributions in his last five matches for the national team.
Rasmus Hojlund was also on the scoresheet in the last game, netting his second in this season’s UNL,while Lazio’s Gustav Isaksen scored when these sides met Copenhagen last weekend.
Patrick Dorgu has now returned to Manchester United to begin treatment, while Adam Daghim is a minor doubt after being withdrawn at halftime against Portugal on Thursday night.

Our Wales vs Denmark Prediction
After failing to score and losing their first two matches in this competition, Wales looked much better on their home patch against Norway on Thursday, and they will want to keep that momentum going in Cardiff this weekend.
However, containing Denmark will not be easy, as the Red and Whites have already netted six goals in their three games in this competition and have scored two or more in five of their last six on the road. Therefore, our Wales vs Denmark prediction is BTTS.
