Daniil Medvedev vs Frances Tiafoe Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Indian Wells

Daniil Medvedev is just two wins away from his fourth succesive tournament win. The fifth seed faces 14th seed Frances Tiafoe in the last eight and is chasing a 19th successive win after winning tournaments in Rotterdam, Doha and Dubai. The Russian began Indian Wells ranked sixth and is fifth in the live list. That's the highest he can reach but the gap on fourth placed Casper Ruud is being narrowed. In the Live ATP Race (based on points earned in 2023), Medvedev only has Novak Djokovic (who he recently beat) ahead of him and can go top if winning this tournament. Medvedev hasn't had it all his own way on the route to his first Indian Wells semi-final. He's lost a set in  matches against Ilya Ivashka and Alexander Zverev (first set lost) but then beat Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in straight sets in his quarter final.

Last year saw Frances Tiafoe reach the US Open semi-finals. Now he's piling up the ranking points with a run to the last four at Indian Wells. The American was 16th at the start of this tournament but is now up to 14th which equals his career high. He can beat that if winning this semi-final and could go as high as 11th. He's 10th in the Live ATP Race and could be seventh if winning this match. All good news for Tiafoe who won the United Cup with the US this year and has reached at least the last eight in his last three tournaments. In this event he's not dropped a set in his four matches. The only seed faced has been Cameron Norrie (10th) who he beat in the quarter finals. To reach the final he'll need to get a first ATP Tour win over Medvedev. All four previous matches have been lost in the past four years winning just one set out of 11. Back Medvedev to get another win.
