Saracens will attempt to make a winning start in the European Rugby Champions Cup this weekend. They are third in PREM Rugby this season and travel to Connacht who are down at 14th in the United Rugby Championship. Our prediction here is an away win for Saracens.
This is a Pool 2 game and it also includes Stade Toulousain, Lions, Stade Rochelais and Exeter Chiefs.
Last season saw Saracens finish fourth in their pool and then lose away at Bath Rugby in the last 16.
This term has seen them win two of their first three PREM Rugby fixtures. They are a point behind leaders Gloucester. Wins have come at Leicester TIgers in a 40-38 thriller and at home to Bristol Bears. Their one defeat has been a 21-17 home loss to Sale Sharks.
Connacht have only earned five points from their first three league games of the new United Rugby Championship season. They lost at home to Stormers before getting a win at Benetton who are below them in the table. Their most recent fixture saw them beaten 36-19 at Glasgow Warriors.
There have been three previous meetings between these two clubs. All have been won by Saracens with the most recent being a 55-36 win at home in 2023.
