The 2026-27 European Rugby Challenge Cup pool stages get underway this weekend. United Rugby Championship side Dragons are home to Top 14's USA Perpignan in Pool 1. Perpignan struggle on the road with three defeats this season and our prediction is a win for Dragons.
These two clubs will also face Cheetahs, Ulster, Zebre Parma and Aviron Bayonne in this pool with the top four qualifying for the last 16.
USA Perpignan had to win a play-off last season to keep their place in Top 14. The French side are ninth in the table this season with three wins and the same number of defeats. All three of their wins have come on home soil with a trio of away league defeats and 133 points conceded with only 64 being scored.
105 points have been conceded by Perpignan in their last two away fixtures.
These two clubs met in last season's Challenge Cup with Perpignan winning, but that was played in France.
This time the game is being played in Wales. Dragons are eighth in the United Rugby Championship with a win, a loss and one draw.
Their one victory came in a 38-26 home win over Scarlets, but they lost to Ospreys by seven points in their last home match.
