Reilly Opelka begins his search for another Delray Beach Open title, facing unseeded compatriot Christopher Eubanks in the first round. The winner of their third career meeting will play Brandon Nakashima or a yet-to-be-revealed qualifier for a place in the quarter-finals. Below is our prediction for this match.

Christopher Eubanks is back in Delray having missed last year’s edition. The American is yet to win a match in this tournament after he lost in the first round on his debut.

Eubanks has won seven of his 12 matches to start the season. Alternating between the challenger and tour circuits, the 28-year-old has won just one main draw match at tour level.

Currently placed outside the ATP top 100, Eubanks is coming off a first-round exit in Dallas.

Reilly Opelka won the Delray Beach Open title in 2020. That was the second of his four tour titles and the only one on an outdoor hard court.

Opelka also earned a runner-up finish the last time he competed in this event.

Having started the season in good form, he will be confident of another deep run in Florida. Opelka has won seven of 10 matches with five of his wins coming on outdoor hardcourts.

The American lost in the final of the Brisbane Open and is coming off a run to the quarter-finals in Dallas.
